Where, when and what?

The Vipava Valley is renowned for the remarkable diversity of its wine styles, born from a wide range of grape varieties and the unwavering creativity of local winemakers. But how high can these wines reach on the global stage? Can they stand alongside the classics of the world’s most established wine regions if we set aside the power of the name and focus solely on what is in the glass?

We will explore these questions at a special masterclass, where Vipava wines will be placed side by side with well-known international styles. We will compare rosés, white and red blends, as well as Barbera and Merlot wines. Each group will be introduced with an overview of the distinctive Vipava interpretation and a presentation of the typical characteristics of the selected foreign regions.

In the blind tasting that follows, we will test whether we can identify the Vipava wines, distinguish them from the others, and assess whether they possess the character and depth to compete with the very best. Each tasting will serve as a starting point for an open discussion on perception, quality, and personal impressions.
